New by-the-hour work-club from drop-in opens its doors in heart of leafy Richmond

A new, super-flexible local co-working space providing Richmond residents with a place to meet and work has opened at 50 George Street in the heart of Richmond with local pubs, cafes and the beautiful Richmond Green a stone’s throw away.

Offering local residents a third space between the office and their homes, workers can Drop-in and pay as little as £99 per month for access to professional-grade office facilities, allowing people to access productive workspace without ever leaving the neighbourhood.

The Richmond work club, the second from Drop-in, following the success of its Hackney club that launched in 2023, will feature fast, reliable broadband, speciality coffee and comfortable desks, chairs and monitors so that workers can just “drop in and go”. It also has a specialty coffee shop that is open to the public.

Drop-in’s mission is to empower remote workers to do more by bringing productive workspace to every high-street. Their clubs are a place for modern workers to go that remove the stresses of working from home and the distractions that come from juggling life admin with work.

Drop-in’s Richmond club is the second in a series of openings planned in neighbourhoods across London by entrepreneur Henry Wilkinson.

Henry Wilkinson co-founder of Drop-in said:

“It is our strong belief that everyone should be able to be their most creative and productive self, when at work. Workers in Richmond deserve a better place to work without leaving the neighbourhood. A place to be productive and to escape the loneliness that can come from working at home.

“We are providing a third space – with everything needed to power up the working day. Our memberships come with no commitment meaning workers have true flexibility in how they use the club.”

Drop-in’s first club at 91 Rendlesham Road in Clapton hit a waitlist shortly after opening due to the demand from the neighbourhood.

Drop-in’s vision is to grow the company into a national retailer, continuing to build and transform workspace access into a retail offering. Drop-in co-founder Henry Wilkinson believes that “the mission becomes more exciting the further away from London we go, as the problem solve becomes even greater. As we do this, we will always stay core to our roots; focusing on productive workspace and great coffee.”

He added: “Having seen the good, bad and the ugly of co-working during a decade working in the sector, I have a sense of where I believe consumers are missing out. Too often, the individual workers are forgotten about and everything is about the corporate. Instead we focus 100% on the individual. There are no private offices or dedicated desks in our clubs, instead they are hot-desks that are allocated on a first-come-first serve basis. And the best bit our memberships are on a no contract basis.. We think that flexibility is king in keeping the modern consumer happy.”
