Strong year for award-winning construction firm as Guildford team expands and delivers major projects
The Guildford office of award-winning construction firm Beard has reported strong performance with sales of £32.2 million for the full year to December 31, 2025.
Underpinned by the successful delivery of projects in the area, the Brookwood-based team grew by 16 per cent in 2025, now a 44-strong team.
Over the course of the year, the Guildford office successfully worked on a number of significant schemes, including:
- A new build £7.1m VIP lounge for FlexJet at Farnborough Airport.
- Work on a new 18-bed ensuite unit for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care, due for completion in April 2026.
- Extension and repair works at Sydenham High School for the Girls Day School Trust, due for completion in May 2026.
- A new £4.2m centre for Elleray Community Association in Teddington.

“It was a strong year for the Guildford team, reflecting the strength of our regional relationships and the commitment of our team to delivering outstanding projects,” said Guildford director, Tom Jenkinson.
“We’ve continued to invest in our people while expanding our regional project portfolio, and we’re proud to have delivered a number of important schemes that support will have a lasting impact in the communities we work in.”
The team championed future talent, supporting two construction trainees, two degree apprentices, and two T-Level students in roles including construction management, architectural engineering and design.
Colleagues also collectively raised £22,000 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as their charity of the year, taking part in activities including Pedal to Paris, which saw nine members of the Beard team cycle 365km in four days from Farnham to Paris.
Part of the firm’s record year
It comes as Beard shares details of its record trading period in the full year to December 31, 2025, with turnover rising by 16 per cent to £230m, achieving profits of £9m.
Rather than accepting increased dividend payments, the shareholders have decided to donate half of the year’s profit to Oxfordshire Community Foundation and Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation.
These donations will help to improve the lives of thousands of people in the Beard trading area.
The strong performance was underpinned by the completion of 62 projects from its offices in Bristol, Guildford, Oxford, Southampton and Swindon.
Beard also saw enhanced success through frameworks and direct awards, as well as through improvements in efficiency and working collaboratively with customers who share the company’s values.
Finance director, Fraser Johns, said: “Our ethos of prompt and faultless delivery, alongside a continued focus on getting the basics right have laid the foundations for the strongest three-year period in the company’s history.
“During this time, we have expanded our presence across all regions, particularly in Southampton where our newest office opened in 2024.
“Our special projects division – comprising work up to £2m in value – continues to be a key contributor to our growth and success.
“Our pipeline of work is healthy, which stands us in good stead for the more competitive conditions we anticipate as we move further into 2026.
“Our ambitions for the year ahead remain strong with a continued focus on supporting our people, supply chain and customers, who are core to our continued success.”
Prompt and faultless delivery
Continuing to deliver exceptional projects for customers across the South of England has remained at the heart of Beard’s offer, with 2025 highlights including completing:

- Bristol Zoo’s £9.6m African Forest – a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a new home for gorillas, crocodiles and mangabeys.
- A renovation to the historic Hilsea Lido (£5.1m) ready for swimmers to enjoy again this summer in Portsmouth.
In 2025, Beard also delivered £45m in social value across 27 completed projects, with 94 per cent of spend with micro, small and medium enterprises.
More than £130k was raised by Beard staff for five charities, and the firm collaborated with 66 educational partners, reaching upwards of 19,000 students and young people.
Beard received recognition for its commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, securing its twelfth consecutive Gold Award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the President's Award for the third consecutive year in 2025.
The firm retained its Investors in People Gold status and remains a bronze signatory of the Fair Payment Code, making it one of just 527 businesses nationwide who have demonstrated commitment to the principles of good payment practice, and being clear, fair and collaborative with suppliers.
