Camberley & District Men's Shed secures £1,500 donation from property developer
Wellbeing charity and community enterprise, Camberley & District Men’s Shed, has received support of a £1,500 donation from David Wilson Homes.
According to research by the Priory Group, as many as four in ten men in the UK don’t discuss their mental health with close friends, family, or a medical professional[1].
Camberley & District Men’s Shed provides a dedicated space for men in the Camberley and District area to share skills, socialise and support each other’s health and wellbeing, whilst carrying out projects that benefit the community.
The donation from David Wilson Homes, which is building at the nearby Finchwood Park development, will enable the group to purchase a much-needed storage container for the safekeeping of materials and equipment used in their projects.

The donation comes from The Barratt Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which supports children, young people and disadvantaged groups wherever Barratt Developments PLC, of which David Wilson Homes is a part of, operates across the UK.
Phil Woodland, Trustee at Camberley & District Men’s Shed, comments: “With 40 members, we have gone from strength to strength in the local area, becoming a vital space for our members to socialise and put their skills to good use for the community.
“We have required an additional storage container for a long time so that we can make better use of our space and it is fantastic that David Wilson Homes has facilitated this for us.”
Alex Dowling, Head of Sales and Marketing at Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties, said: "We are proud to be working with Camberley & District Men’s Shed, which is a fantastic organisation tackling loneliness and isolation in the local community. It is great to hear that the donation is going towards a storage container which will be of immediate use to the team and the community."

David Wilson Homes’ Finchwood Park development currently has a range of three and four-bedroom homes available with prices starting from £499,995.
