The only goal of the game came after the third minute. The impressive Sam Jobbins drove a corner into the box and the deadly striker Jordan Stallibrass powered it in past Webb-Olley.
The Lingers began to get on top and were pushing forward and on the 11th minute hit a great shot. Heroic James Bendall threw himself in front of a ball which fortunately put the goal bound shot into the hands of the reliable goalkeeper, Josh Measor.
Dansoko and Williams were causing the Hurst defence all sorts of problems. Somehow Lingfield couldn’t make their possession count.

After the halftime cuppa, the Hurst came out fighting. After a few minutes Stallibrass played a through ball to the cunning Harry Smith. Smith controlled the ball and took it past the keeper, but he’s effort was blocked on the goal line.
The second half was fast paced and end to end but the match finally ended at 1-0 and put the underdogs through.
Billingshurst management said, “A committed team performance matched by a vociferous support. It felt like a home game. So Many fans, thanks to all who made the effort to get there.”
