and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The Birds of the Bourne Area offers a unique look at local birdlife, combining the author's own personal nature records spanning 70 years with extensive historical research to provide the reader with a species-by-species account of what birds have been found and are still to be found in the area.
For over seven decades, Thomas has dedicated his life to studying and attempting to preserve the natural habitats of birds in Surrey. His passion for ornithology began as a child, inspired by the vibrant birdlife that filled the downs, woodlands and fields surrounding his home. In Birds of the Bourne Area, he shares his deep knowledge of historical bird species that once thrived in the area, alongside detailed accounts of their habitats and behaviours and sadly their rapid and unprecidented declines.
