St Raphael’s Hospice is urgently looking for new volunteers to help run its charity shops through a new recruitment campaign to help fill its volunteer vacancies in 12 shops across Merton and Sutton.

The campaign launched on Monday 13 May with posters in all its stores, including a pre-loved wedding dress shop in Wimbledon Park, a boutique in Cheam Village and a clearance store in Morden, where everything sold costs £3 or less.

A wide range of roles are available, including van drivers, window-dressers, sorting and displaying items and serving customers. By donating their time, St Raphael’s volunteers help keep the charity running so that it can provide free end of life care to adults living in Merton and Sutton.

St Raphael’s Retail Director Sara Jane Woods said, “We really need more of our brilliant volunteers and we hope that this campaign will encourage people to come forward and find out more about opportunities in our shops. You only need to have a couple of hours spare a week and in return we’ll provide a great way to get involved in your local community, make new friends and have fun at the same time!”
