Surrey pupils showcase their creative talent to design children's royal-themed bedrooms

Primary school pupils in Deepcut were challenged by award-winning housebuilder Bewley Homes to design ‘prince and princess’ themed bedrooms for its forthcoming show home which has a royal connection.

Bewley Homes, who are building 65 new homes at Monarch’s Grove on Frimhurst Farm in the village, handed over prizes to three pupils from the school whose designs are now inspiring the interiors of the children's bedrooms for its new show home.

This innovative project celebrates the royal connection of the development, named in honour of King Charles III's coronation last year.

Katy Boutureira, from PJB Interiors and Chloe Wilman, Head of Customer Services at Bewley handed over the winning framed designs and gift vouchers to the winners for their creative efforts at an assembly in front of the entire school.

Bewley Homes has long been committed to fostering community engagement and supporting local talent where it builds its developments. Partnering with Lakeside Primary School for Monarch's Grove provided an opportunity to showcase the imagination of the young people in Deepcut.

Katy Boutureira, from PJB Interiors, Bewley’s interior design company, judged the entries and was impressed with the standard. Katy said: “It was very hard to pick a winner and in the end we selected three as the designs were so good.”

Sam Armstrong, Head Teacher, at Lakeside Primary School expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, commenting: "We were more than happy to have our pupils involved in such an exciting project with Bewley Homes. It's been an incredible opportunity for the pupils to unleash their creativity. The theme - Prince and Princess - sparked their imagination, and we're proud of the designs they've produced."

Elaine Stratford, Sales and Marketing Director at Bewley Homes, added: “The level of attention to detail demonstrated by Lakeside Primary School pupils has been truly impressive.

“Their designs will add a magical touch to our Monarch's Grove show home when we open in the summer. We're grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the school and look forward to inviting the pupils back to officially launch the show home and view the bedrooms they have helped design. Bringing out the imagination of children and inspiring them for their futures, means a great deal to all of us at Bewley.”

Bewley’s Monarch’s Grove is a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom homes from its Garden Village Collection, and is surrounded by woodland situated next to Basingstoke Canal.

For prospective ‘early bird’ buyers, Bewley is launching Monarch’s Grove off-plan on Saturday, April 20th at Romans estate agents’ office in Camberley.
