Surrey wrestler launches bid for title
Surrey wrestler Harry Sefton is chasing title glory on Friday night (February 21).
The lightweight grappler from Camberley faces Premier Wrestling Federation champion David Lovejoy, from Worthing, in a no time limit fight to the finish, and Sefton reckons victory on the Haslemere Hall stage will earn him a crack at one of the most prestigious titles in British wrestling.
Said Sefton: “The promoters have promised me that if I beat Lovejoy on Friday they will bill me against him on the next show for the championship, and I know I can take him down in a title match”.
Sefton already has a draw against Lovejoy on his CV, and Friday’s bout is a return contest demanded by the crowd after Lovejoy narrowly triumphed in a hard-fought, no holds barred clash on the last Haslemere show.

The action-packed Friday night spectacular will also feature a huge super-heavyweight tag match with something like 90st pounding the boards when one of the most feared teams in the business, The Beards, “Man Mountain” Karl Atlas and “Mad Dog” Quinn, are set to battle it out against “The Gladiator” Samson and Big Wade.
And when that is done and dusted, all the evening’s contestants will return to the arena for an American rumble when the wrestlers are eliminated by being thrown out over the top rope, and the last man standing is declared the king of the ring.
It all kicks off at 7.30, and tickets are available on line at www.haslemerehall.com or by calling the box office 01428 642161.
