Compass Community School Beaumont Park to Open in Esher in 2026

In September 2026, Compass Community Schools will open a new specialist school in Esher.

Compass Community School Beaumont Park is built on a clear belief: you should never put limits on what a child can achieve. When young people are surrounded by teachers who help them feel secure, who truly know and believe in them, they begin to imagine – and achieve – a future that they never thought possible. Beaumont Park has been designed to turn that belief into everyday reality.

Everything starts with relationships. Teachers take time to really know each child – to listen carefully, understand what sits beneath behaviour, and build the kind of trust that allows children to feel secure, often for the first time. In that sense of security, children begin to settle, attend consistently and re-engage with learning. For families, this can be life-changing too: parents frequently tell Compass that as their child begins to feel secure and supported at school, home life starts to stabilise, routines return and hope grows again.

That sense of security creates space for ambition to grow. Children are encouraged to dream big, because the teachers around them refuse to put limits on what they can achieve. As confidence builds, young learners try new things, develop life skills, become more independent, take exams and begin to look ahead to life after school – including work or college. This is what happens when children are supported by teachers, determined to transform the lives of young people.

Beaumont Park will be registered for up to 60 learners across primary, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Learning will take place in very small groups, supported by skilled staff and clear routines, within a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach embedded throughout the school day. The school has been carefully designed around regulation and readiness, with dedicated sensory spaces, soft play and breakout areas that support learners to reset and return to learning when things feel difficult.

The curriculum will offer academic and vocational pathways, shaped around each learner’s strengths, interests and aspirations. Alongside strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and communication, learners will be supported to build practical skills, confidence and independence, preparing them for the next stage of their lives.

Beaumont Park will be part of the wider Compass Community, which has been supporting children and young people with complex needs since 2012. Each Compass school reflects the community it serves, while being strengthened by shared expertise in therapeutic practice, safeguarding and education.

Executive Headteacher Lee Wright said:

“Beaumont Park is about getting the fundamentals right—strong relationships, calm routines and an environment where learners feel understood. When children look back, we want them to feel that they were known well, supported properly and able to move forward with confidence. This is a school built on belief, held steadily until learners are ready to carry it themselves.”

Ahead of the school opening, families, professionals and members of the local community are invited to attend an online information event on Tuesday 3rd February, from 4:30pm – 5:00pm. The session will introduce Beaumont Park’s approach, outline plans for the school and offer an opportunity to hear from the leadership team and ask questions in an informal setting.
