60 students from the Weydon Music department enjoyed the unique experience of performing at the Royal Albert Hall, as part of the Music For Youth Schools Proms.

The students were part of a ‘creative project’ which featured the premiere of Jack Pepper’s Thank You Note, a piece which was inspired by his music teacher. The concert featured three different performances by Weydon students, who were part of over 500 musicians playing at the same time.

The trip included an afternoon rehearsal with professional conductors, an evening concert to a packed theatre and even a trip to Pizza Express! Ben Roberts, Head of Music said “Students were an absolute credit to the school and we could not be prouder of them. It was certainly a musical experience that will last a lifetime”.
