Housebuilder to consult on proposals for new homes in Mole Valley
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The draft plans will show around 200 homes, 40% of which will be affordable, at Land North-West of Preston Farm. If approved, these net zero carbon homes will be delivered alongside a brand-new community facility (flexible to a range of uses including for medical use) and a high-quality children’s play area.
A Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) / country park with lake access and new pathways also forms part of the proposals which will help in the protection of existing wildlife and a biodiversity net gain of at least 10%.

Hide AdThe Site is a draft allocation in the Mole Valley District Council Draft Local Plan 2020-2033, published following extensive public consultation by Mole Valley District Council in 2020-2021. Whilst the Local Plan is currently paused, Thakeham believes the need for new homes is as prevalent as ever, if not more so, and is therefore bringing its application forward in line with the policies set out in the draft Local Plan.
Tristan Robinson, Director of External Affairs & Social Value at Thakeham, said: “With Mole Valley being the 4th least affordable place to live in the UK, younger people and families are struggling to afford homes locally. Moreover, we know that older people are struggling to find properties to downsize into, so it’s vitally important we deliver new private and affordable homes.
We are committed to hearing the views of local people and incorporating their feedback, wherever possible, into our proposals as they develop, and facilitating the provision of truly needed homes for all in Bookham and Mole Valley.”
Thakeham delivers amazing places to live, where quality homes sit alongside the infrastructure and amenities needed for people and communities to thrive. With an industry-leading focus on achieving net zero carbon homes, it is at the forefront of placemaking in the UK.
