Surrey town will see some much-needed affordable housing with the launch of SO Resi Oxshott
With the average house price in Oxshott standing at a staggering £2.3 million according to property portal Rightmove, the Surrey town will see some much-needed affordable housing with the launch of SO Resi Oxshott on 3rd February.
Providing a range of one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses all available via the Shared Ownership scheme starting from £367,500 (£110,250 30% share), the homes will be available for residents to move in during Spring/Summer 2024.
Surrounded by ancient woodlands, a collection of 11 homes have been designed with exteriors to incorporate classic architectural features to complement the charming semi-rural surrounds of the area. Internally, every home is designed with modern living in mind and finished to the high specification. These include Hacienda kitchens, Tectonica worktops and fitted to wardrobes to the primary bedroom. Each home benefits from a parking space with an EV charging point, exterior cycle storage and landscaped communal grounds.
Kevin Sims, Director of Sales & Marketing at SO Resi comments: “The current housing market is making it difficult for first-time buyers to place a foot on the property ladder, but in places like Oxshott, this is near to impossible. People often think Shared Ownership is only for first-time buyers, however with the average semi-detached property at a staggering £816,667 in Oxshott, our homes will also appeal to second steppers looking to move to an affluent area.

“Dubbed as the ‘Beverley Hills of London’[2], places such as Oxshott should not be off the cards for buyers, especially those who have grown up in the area. Shared Ownership offers the rare chance for first-time buyers and families to not be ripped away from the places they have grown up in with average deposits on our homes at £11,764. We recently saw strong demand at SO Resi Cranleigh, also in Surrey, and expect Oxshott to be no different.”
The apartments will be available through Shared Ownership, meaning that buyers are able to purchase a minimum share of 30% for one bedroom and 25% for two bedrooms, with just a 10% deposit. Buyers will then have the option to gradually increase their share in the future through a process known as staircasing.
Oxshott offers the best of both worlds with its charm of a rural community lifestyle alongside the access and convenience of being well connected to the city in just 37 minutes with services to London Waterloo. The village itself offers Oxshott Club, the Village Sports Club, and a range of eateries such as gastropubs and cafés. Surrounding areas also offer a plethora of fun days out, including Chessington World of Adventures, Sandown Racecourse and Hampton Court Palace. Oxshott benefits from excellent road links being a stones’ throw away from the M25 and A23 or A3 for direct access into London.
Launching on 3rd February, these 11 stunning new homes will be in high demand and priority will be given in the first instance to those who live or work in the Borough of Elmbridge. To find out more and to book your appointment to view, visit www.sharedownership.co.uk or call 020 8607 0550.
