Man charged following Addlestone stabbing

A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Addlestone on Sunday afternoon (April 27).

Officers were called to Carlos Barber Shop on Garfield Road at the junction with Station Road just before 3.30pm following reports that a man in his 30s had been assaulted.

Surrey Police said the victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound but has since been discharged after receiving treatment.

Police said Joseph Sewell, 22, of no fixed address has been charged with attempted GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court today (April 29), the force added.

Surrey Police said a 26-year-old man from Weybridge has also been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

Surrey Police’s investigation remains ongoing and they are still appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the area at the time, or anyone with any other information which could help progress their enquiries.
