Wildfire breaks out in Surrey; road remains closed

Crews rushed to a wildfire in Surrey.

Surrey Fire & Rescue Service reported at 5.15pm on Tuesday (May 20) that crews were tackling a wildfire on Crooksbury Road, Tilford, Farnham.

“We have two fire engines, one water carrier and multiple specialist vehicles, including our fogging units and unimogs,” a post on social media read.

"Police have closed Camp Hill Road. Please avoid the area.”

According to AA Traffic News, the road remains closed on Wednesday morning.

A traffic notice reads: “Road closed due to wild fire on Camp Hill both ways between B3001 Waverley Lane and Crooksbury Road. Since Tuesday afternoon.”
