As part of the celebrations, residents learned about Hinduism and the origins of the festival, before enjoying a traditional, including traditional Punjabi samosa, sel roti, momo an Indian delicacy, aloo tikki, onion bhaji, chole bhatari, jalebi, a traditional Indian sweet. It was served with a traditional Indian drink mango lasssi, all homemade by the home’s Head Chef Ajay and his team.

Later, everyone was treated to a special performance from Munde Punjab De Ltd, a Bollywood and Bhangra dance group that had residents tapping their feet and dancing along.

Commenting on the event, resident, Marie McKenzie said: “It was a fantastic event, I learnt a lot about why Holi is celebrated. The whole day was amazing, I enjoyed the Bollywood dancers the most, they were brilliant! My daughter even joined them to try the dance moves herself as she loves visiting India for holidays.”
