The Clink Charity releases Spring Hampers made by students at HMP Brixton

The Clink Charity, renowned for reducing reoffending by training and rehabilitating people in prison, unveils its Spring hampers, curated by students at The Clink Bakery in HMP Brixton.

The delectable hampers are now on sale through The Clink Charity’s website and have been created by talented individuals working in The Clink Bakery who are training towards their City & Guilds qualifications in General Patisserie and Confectionery.

The Clink Bakery, which was recently awarded the Social Enterprise Bakery of the Year, is rooted in its aim to provide transformative education and employment opportunities for those leaving prison.

In 2023 alone, the bakery trained 20 students and awarded eight qualifications, including Level 2 Patisserie and Nutrition certifications. These achievements are just one example of The Clink Charity's overall commitment to reducing reoffending rates and empowering individuals for successful reintegration into society.

Each Spring hamper is a testament to the students' creativity, knowledge and skill, the hampers feature an enticing selection of sweet and savoury ingredients, including:

  • Strawberry, coconut, and ruby chocolate brittle
  • Pistachio, almond, and sour cherry biscotti
  • Mixed berry meringues
  • Earl Grey and lemon shortbread
  • Clotted cream fudge
  • Salted toffee and peanut popcorn
  • Parmesan and cheddar cheese sables
  • Chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies
  • Seville orangettes

Furthermore, every hamper includes a bottle of Dry Dragon Kombucha, wholemeal flour from Brixton Windmill, a recipe card, and a 10-year anniversary of The Clink recipe book.

With each purchase, customers not only experience spring food delights but will also contribute directly to The Clink Charity's vital work in reducing reoffending and supporting students in rebuilding their lives. There were over 800 individuals trained and 550 NVQ qualifications delivered in 2023 alone.
