Grace Smith was tipped by Bellowhead fiddler, Sam Sweeney, as one of TradFolk’s “Young Folk Musicians You Have to Hear”.

Acclaimed fiddler and violist Grace Smith is joined by Sam Partridge and Bevan Morris in this innovative folk ensemble. Wielding the distinct voices of fiddle, concertina and double bass, the trio creates one dynamic and expressive musical dialogue. Drawing deeply from tradition, whilst also expanding their repertoire with new melodies of their own, the Grace Smith Trio explores the boundaries of what folk can be. Bellows, bow and bass come together to mesmerising effect, with music that will stay with you long after you finish listening. Being skilled and dedicated music educators, the trio will also be running a folk ensemble playing workshop for musicians in the afternoon.

“Grace is doing a thing that many musicians take decades to do, she’s making an honest expression of herself through her music, and I love it!” - Sam Sweeney, TradFolk Young folk musicians you have to hear, 2023

Saturday 27 April 2024, Folk Ensemble Workshop 2 - 4:30 pm, Concert starts 7:30 pm. St Mary's Church, Quarry Street, Guildford GU1 3UA. Tickets from www.folkinspiration.org
