Road closures: almost a dozen for Guildford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Guildford will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M25, from 11.59pm December 31 2023 to 11.59pm May 31 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 11 to junction 9, Narrow Lanes for major improvement Scheme.

• A3, from 11.59pm December 31 2023 to 11.59pm May 31 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 northbound, Portsmouth Road to Painshill, Narrow Lanes for major improvement Scheme.

• M25, from 11.59pm December 31 2023 to 11.59pm May 31 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 9 to junction 11, Narrow Lanes for major improvement Scheme.

• A3, from 11.59pm December 31 2023 to 11.59pm May 31 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 southbound, Portsmouth Road to Painshill, Narrow Lanes for major improvement Scheme.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A3, from 10pm February 12 to 5.30am February 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 10 Roundabout, Roundabout closure, including M25 Anticlockwise entry and exit slip roads and A3 northbound, entry and southbound, exit slip road closures, for improvement Scheme, diversion via local authorities.

• A3, from 8pm February 14 to 6am February 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A3 both directions Hazel Grove to Milford, diversion route for Surrey County Council.

• A3, from 8pm February 15 to 6am February 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A3 northbound, Stoke to Send, Lane closures for signage work.

• A3, from 10pm February 15 to 5.30am February 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 northbound, junction Wisley Interchange, carriageway closure between entry and exit slip roads, including A3 northbound, Portsmouth Road entry slip road, for improvement works, diversion via local authorities.

• A3, from 9pm February 23 to 5.30am February 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 northbound, junction B2039 to M25, junction 10, carriageway closure for improvements, diversion via local authority network.

• A3, from 9pm February 23 to 5.30am February 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 southbound, Esher to Ripley, Lane, carriageway, entry and exit slip road closures for, junction improvement scheme, diversion via the M25 Anticlockwise to J9 and then the A24 to the A246 to the A247 to re-join the A3 at Send.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
