CARE HOME CELEBRATES SUPERSTAR RESIDENT
Staff and residents at Silverbirch House Care Home in Guildford are celebrating because one of the homes much-loved characters, Anthony, has been selected Resident Ambassador, a role he is extremely proud of and one he does very well. With his vast and interesting history, no one at Silverbirch House Court could think of a better person to represent them.
Anthony is such a fascinating character; he was born in Windsor and after graduating from the University of London with a degree in medicine in 1954 he began working immediately as a General Practitioner. One of the units in Silverbirch House is even named after him. Anthony’s main hobby is fishing and he also enjoyed travelling – mostly within England with Cornwall being his favourite location.
Louise Jones, General Manager at Silverbirch House Court Care Home, said: “We are all incredibly proud of Anthony. The role of the Resident Ambassador is an important one and he takes it all in his stride. He really is a wonderful, kind man, always helping others and we’re all incredibly fond of him.”
