Egham Care Home’s Christmas Fair Raises £1,400 for Thames Hospice
Residents and staff at Rivermede Court, a luxury care home on The Avenue in Egham raised an impressive £1,411 at their Christmas Fair for Thames Hospice, a charity close to their hearts.
The residents sold stunning Christmas decorations, Christmas centre pieces, coasters, and gonks which they had made, and the care home staff organised a Santa’s grotto, a tombola and a raffle with fantastic prizes. Thanks to close links with the local community, a £200 golf voucher from Royal Ascot golf course was generously donated, along with cinema tickets from Everyman Egham, a nail voucher from Annas Nails Egham and a family ticket to Bocketts Farm.

Manon James-Mallinger, General Manager at Rivermede Court said, “It was a fantastic event with a wonderful turn out. We had stalls selling Xmas wreaths, makeup and crochet items, a gingerbread decorating stall organised by the Navy Seals and live music. We are so grateful to everyone in the local community who supported us. We were hoping to raise £1000 and are extremely proud to have exceeded our target for the amazing Thames Hospice which provides compassionate specialised care for people facing life limiting illnesses and offers vital support to their families.”
Jess Seymour, Project Manager from Thames Hospice, “We are so delighted and deeply grateful to see Rivermede Court not only reach but exceed their fundraising pledge. Every penny raised helps us provide compassionate hospice care, offering comfort, dignity, and support to patients and their families when it matters most. We cannot thank Rivermede Court enough for helping us to continue our vital work.”
