Ground Broken at New Homes Development in Felbridge
A leading housebuilder has celebrated the start of construction work at a brand-new housing development in Felbridge, East Grinstead.
David Wilson Homes Southern has broken ground at its new site on Crawley Down Roadto officially mark the beginning of its 56-home development.
Present for the start of works at the new community were the housebuilder’s Site Manager, Justine Hope, and Assistant Site Manager, Chanella Fayth Luz, both of whom are paving the way for women in construction.
Justine (54), from Australia, is looking forward to seeing the development progress. She said: “I’m passionate about quality and the processes and procedures involved to get it right early on. I love seeing the transition of a development, starting out with the drawings and being at the forefront to see those drawings come to life.”
Chanella (27), from The Philippines, added: “I like how surprised people are when I tell them I’m an Assistant Site Manager. I’ve always been interested in construction and I enjoy the opportunity to work hard on site, keep physically fit and learn a range of useful skills along the way.”
The development of two, three and four bedroom properties, named Millers Grove, will underpin approximately 112 jobs for local people during its time and will bring significant investment to the area.
