Leatherhead care home wins a prestigious award
A care home in Leatherhead is celebrating after winning ‘Team of the Year’ across Surrey.
Care UK’s Liberham Lodge, on Rectory Lane in Little Bookham, was announced as the winner for The Surrey Care Awards, in the category ‘The Team of the Year’. The home won the Surrey region for the care home’s dedication to providing exceptional nursing care.

The Surrey Care Awards recognise excellence in care and celebrate fantastic work from individuals and teams who excel in their roles and responsibilities within the care sector and across Surrey.
The nursing team was nominated for their hard work, compassion and commitment to creating a supportive environment for the residents. Judges praised how Liberham Lodge focuses on person-centred care, ensuring residents are treated as individuals and that their medical and caring needs are met with the highest standards.
Judges also highlighted the care home creating strong relationships with GPs, guaranteeing that palliative care and residents’ final wishes are respected, while families receive compassionate support during these difficult times.
Kindness and connection are at the core of the team’s approach to care. From daily activities to tailored care, every aspect is designed to enhance residents' wellbeing, enrich their lives, and offer opportunities for growth and shared experiences.
Not only has Liberham Lodge won this award, but they have received several prestigious accreditations over the past couple of years. Its latest CQC report rated care as ‘Outstanding’, which highlighted areas such as People’s Experience and Independent Choice and Control.
The home was recently awarded the Gold Standard Framework, recognising the highest standard of palliative and end-of-life care. Also, accreditation of the Veteran Friendly Framework acknowledges the home’s commitment to understanding and supporting those who have served in the armed forces.
Jagpal Singh, General Manager at Liberham Lodge, said: “We’re delighted to have won the ‘Team of the Year’. It is a true testament to the team's dedication to creating a supportive environment with the highest standard of care.
