Mayor Lights up Surrey Care Home

TLC’s Camberley Manor Care Home welcomed the Mayor of Camberley, Cllr Louise Ashbery, for a special evening to switch on the home’s Christmas lights and unveil this year’s festive trees.

Residents, their families, and team members gathered for an uplifting celebration, complete with mulled wine, mince pies, and live entertainment from local singer, Charlotte Hillman. In a touching display of compassion, Cllr Ashbery also visited residents who were too unwell or bedbound to attend the main gathering. She spent time in their rooms, offering conversation, comfort, and personal Christmas wishes.

Throughout her visit, the Mayor engaged with Camberley Manor’s dedicated team of healthcare assistants and nurses, expressing her gratitude for their outstanding commitment to resident wellbeing. She acknowledged their hard work and selfless devotion, particularly during the winter season, which can be a challenging time in care settings.

“We are honoured that Cllr Ashbery joined us to celebrate such a special moment,” said Albert Joy, Registered Home Manager. “Her kindness, genuine interest in our residents, and heartfelt appreciation for our team made this event truly memorable for everyone at Camberley Manor.”

Camberley Manor is delighted to have shared such a meaningful and memorable start to the festive season with the Mayor and the local community.
