£240k investment brings enhanced audiology services to Farnham

A BRAND-NEW hearcare centre has opened in Farnham’s town centre after an increase in customer demand.

Specsavers Farnham Hearing Centre has moved from its former location with the optical side of the business on West Street and opened a dedicated hearing centre on The Borough, investing £240,000 into the town’s high street.

Following an influx of customers in the past year, the locally owned and run store decided to move from the shared location and set up a standalone store, providing seven extra clinics a week and more space for dedicated hearcare services.

Emma Walker, director of hearing services at Specsavers Farnham Hearing Centre, says: ‘Having been the audiology partner in the Farnham Specsavers store for 11 years now, I have had the pleasure of being able to ensure the very best levels of care for the community’s hearing for a long time.

‘The need for this service has grown exponentially, so we have invested in beautiful new premises, with more room and a team dedicated to continuing our legacy of providing exceptional levels of care.

‘We now have the ability to service more people in a warm and welcoming, modern environment.’

As part of the move, a further two audiologists have joined the store, giving them nine members of the teamin total to offer services including free hearing checks, private hearing device dispensing and fitting, microsuction wax removal services and NHS audiology services to those who are eligible.

‘We have a number of products for sale which assist those with hearing impairments, including Bluetooth TV streamers, remote smart microphones, and travel chargers,’ says Emma. ‘There’s also custom-made hearing protection for sleeping, swimming, music and motorsports.’

In addition, the store has been fitted with brand-new sound booths in the consulting rooms for accurate hearing checks, as well as a new hearing audiometer and two new video otoscopes to help check the health of customers’ ears.

There will be 17 clinics running a week, from Monday to Saturday, offering the full range of services. Customers can also drop in to either the audiology or optics store to collect batteries for their hearing devices and have basic repairs done, including tubing and dome changes, without any appointment necessary.

Emma adds: ‘My team is equipped and ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your hearing and ear health, with state-of-the-art technology and decades of experience at our disposal to help how we can.’
