Surrey opticians hold eye clinic for those experiencing homelessness
First-class eyecare was delivered at a free clinic for Surrey people experiencing homelessness.
Leading professionals from the Specsavers Farnham store volunteered their time and expertise in partnership with the charity Transform Housing.

The locally owned and run store, located on West Street, offered free eye tests and glasses in a supportive setting. Those who attended the clinic were given the all clear for any eye issues and picked up new prescription glasses to take away with them.
Following the success of the initial clinic, plans are already under way to build on the learning and expand the programme, with arrangements in place to hold more clinics in 2026.
Future clinics will broaden the range of services offered, including hearing health support through wax removal, which will further strengthen the holistic approach to community care.
Georgina Croft, retail director at Specsavers Farnham, says: ‘This clinic highlights our commitment to making eye and hearing care more accessible for everyone in our community.
‘Working alongside Transform Housing allows us to reach people who might otherwise struggle to access these vital services, and we’re excited to build on this in future clinics.’
