Orchard Manor care home residents in Windlesham enjoy memorable day trip to London

Residents from Orchard Manor in Windlesham, part of Danforth Care Homes, recently enjoyed their first long day trip to London, taking in the sights and sounds of the capital on a carefully planned and joy-filled adventure.
The group began their day with a breathtaking ride on the London Eye, where residents admired panoramic views of the city from above, pointing out familiar landmarks and soaking in the scenery. The next stop was a traditional fish and chip bar, where everyone tucked into a hearty lunch and shared stories over a classic British meal.
In the afternoon, the group made their way to the Sea Life London Aquarium. Residents and team members alike were fascinated by the vibrant marine life, from sharks and turtles to shimmering schools of tropical fish. The sense of wonder was palpable as they explored the underwater world together.
To round off the day, the group paused for coffee, tea, and dessert, reflecting on the sights they’d seen and the memories made.

Jamila Faerber, General Manager at Orchard Manor, said:
“This trip was a real highlight for everyone involved. Many of our residents hadn’t been to London in years, and to see the joy on their faces as they rediscovered the city was incredibly special. We believe that age should never limit opportunity, and this trip reflects our commitment to helping residents continue to live rich, fulfilling lives.”
Orchard Manor offers a varied activities programme throughout the year, ensuring residents have the opportunity to enjoy new experiences, engage with the wider community, and make the most of every day.
