Royal Pavilion Ice Rink opens early exclusively for NHS staff

Before its official opening to the public on 26th October, the UK’s most picturesque ice rink held an enchanting evening of ice skating exclusively for University Hospitals Sussex staff and volunteers.

On Friday 25th October, Laine Ltd generously invited local NHS staff for an exclusive ice skate on their rink at Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. After sunset, over 500 staff members and their loved ones donned their skates and took to the ice for this free event.

Now in its third year, the evening was a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to NHS staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work - a way to show appreciation for their long hours tireless commitment, and sacrifices they make to support healthcare in our local hospitals - Worthing, Brighton, Chichester and Haywards Heath.

The evening was organised by My University Hospitals Sussex, the dedicated charity for seven NHS hospitals across Sussex. Event sponsors Morgan Sindall kindly provided refreshments, making the evening extra special. It was a wonderful way to begin the festive season.

The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink has been welcoming visitors since 2010. It is powered exclusively by renewable energy and is now open to the public until 5th January.
