Staff from the South East region of Vistry Group, Britain’s biggest housebuilder, have completed an array of fundraising challenges in support of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA was the company’s chosen national charity in 2024 and events organised by the team at Vistry South East, which is based in Caterham, raised a total of £10,000 during the course of the year.

A charity golf day held at East Sussex National Golf Club in Uckfield in July contributed £7,316 towards the total, while a further £1,284 was raised by a group of employees who completed the 13 Bridges Challenge – a sponsored walk taking in 13 bridges across London – in September.

Vistry South East colleagues also got involved in the company-wide Tri-Force Trials week, which featured a variety of fundraising activities linked to ice, earth and water. Some staff braved an early morning open water lake swim in Redhill, one site hosted an ice bath challenge, while other employees took part in running, walking and climbing, raising £1,400 between them.

The ice bath challenge was held at Vistry’s Mill View development in Pagham in September, with site staff and contractors taking on their colleagues from across the region to see who could endure the ice-cold water the longest – a battle won by the site team who stayed immersed for an impressive 15 minutes.
