I tried the new side option at a popular chicken restaurant in Crawley and one flavour outshone the rest
Wingstop have launched a Corn side option this week – and we have been along to try it out.
Wingstop say they are ‘the restaurant brand that doesn’t play when it comes to flavour’ and said the Corn dish is a ‘a bold new side option for fans looking to unlock a unique flavour experience’.
The option is now on menus nationwide, including Crawley, and can be ordered in portions of four or eight and will be available in-store, via Click & Collect and delivery. Diners can enjoy Corn coated in Wingstop’s signature flavours, including Wingstop Style, Lemon Pepper, and Cajun, or opt for it plain.
A press release from Wingstop said: “Corn complements Wingstop’s existing menu, pairing seamlessly with its classic and boneless wings, tenders, burgers, and adds another side item to go alongside fries and house slaw. Bringing a new texture and flavour profile to the menu, Corn gives guests even more choice when building their perfect order.

“Already a popular menu item in other Wingstop markets globally, Corn is no doubt about to become a fan-favourite in the UK and Ireland.”
I went along to try all the flavours – and had the added bonus of trying the new recipe for the Honey and Mustard dip.
Normally, I would have sweetcorn or corn-on-the-con doused in butter so it was a new experience having them come with coarings of different flavours.
I knew what to expect with the Wingstop-style – that’s my fries of choice when I go there – and it was very tasty. The plain option tasted like, well, corn.

The Cajun coating was, as you would imagine, tasty but spicy. I don’t handle spicy well but this was on the right side of not too over-powering.
But the standout flavour was the Lemon and Pepper option. The lemon was quite subtle but it just came through with every bite and there was the right amount of pepper so it again wasn’t too over-powering, which it can be sometimes.
Overall it’s a good addition to the Wingstop menu and can see it being popular with regulars.
