Haslemere residents facing water supply issues following burst water main
Residents in Haslemere are facing water supply issues following a burst water main, with emergency repair work also causing a road closure on the A286 Bell Road.
Residents in Fernden Lane, Haslemere, are experiencing water supply problems after a burst water main disrupted supplies on Friday, October 16.
South East Water confirmed that the burst main has left some customers without water and others experiencing low water pressure, with engineers working around the clock to repair the fault.
In its latest update, issued at 12.03pm on Friday, October 16, the company apologised to affected residents and said the repair work was “proving complex”.

South East Water said: “We’re currently working around the clock to fix a burst main on our network which is causing the supply issues.”
The company added that it would continue to provide updates as work progressed, but had not confirmed when normal supplies would be restored.
Earlier in the day, at 10.20am, South East Water said a road closure would be required to allow engineers to carry out the repairs safely.
West Sussex Highways has since advised that South East Water is carrying out essential emergency repairs to the burst water main on the A286 Bell Road, Haslemere.
The road closure will remain in place until October 20, while the urgent repairs are completed.
Motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys and follow the signed diversion route where applicable.
At the time of its earlier update, South East Water was unable to give a timescale for the repair work and apologised for the additional inconvenience caused by the disruption.
The first update was issued at 7.22am, when South East Water said it was investigating the cause of the water supply problems as a priority. By 9.02am, it had confirmed that a burst main was responsible.
Residents affected by the outage can register for SMS text message alerts through South East Water’s incident update page to receive further information as it becomes available.
The company has apologised for the interruption, acknowledging the disruption caused by being without water, and said it was doing everything possible to restore supplies as soon as possible.
