Multiple properties affected by water supply problems in Haslemere
Nineteen properties on Fernden Lane in Haslemere are experiencing low water pressure or no water following a burst water main, South East Water has confirmed.
The company said it was ‘working around the clock’ to repair the burst main on Friday (16 October), but a gas leak discovered nearby has delayed the work.
South East Water said it was waiting for gas network operator SGN to attend and carry out repairs to the gas leak before it could complete its own work.
A spokesperson for South East Water said: “We're really sorry to the 19 properties which are experiencing low water pressure or no water on Fernden Lane in Haslemere today (16 October).

“We're currently working around the clock to fix a burst main on our network which is causing the supply issues. Unfortunately a gas leak has been discovered near the water leak and we are waiting for SGN to attend and undertake their repair before we can complete ours.”
The company said it understood the disruption caused by the loss of water and would be delivering bottled water to affected customers.
The spokesperson added: “We know how disruptive it is to be without water and we're doing everything we can to resolve this as soon as possible. We will be delivering bottled water to the affected customers.”
The incident comes amid a hosepipe ban, with South East Water acknowledging customers’ concerns about seeing water leaks while restrictions remain in place.
The spokesperson said: “We understand customers’ frustrations when they see a leak whilst a hosepipe ban is in place, however, we want to assure them that we are doing everything we can to repair leaks as quickly as possible.”
