Guildford Girls Cricket Hub will fly the flag for Surrey at Lord’s on Saturday 13 September, as they chase a remarkable third consecutive national title in the MCC Foundation National Hub Competition.

The Guildford side has become one of the most consistent performers in the competition. They were runners-up in 2022, which remains their last defeat, before bouncing back to secure back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024. Now, they head to the Home of Cricket for their fourth consecutive final.

This year’s squad blends promise with opportunity. Only two of the current players have experienced a Lord’s final before, with the rest of the group preparing for their debuts on the biggest stage in English cricket. That freshness is seen as a strength, underlining the depth of talent within Surrey’s grassroots game and the development opportunities provided by the Hub.

The MCCF Finals Day, supported by Barclays, brings together the top hub sides from across the country. Guildford Girls face York Girls Hub, who have qualified for their first national final. The boys’ final later in the day will see York meet Leyton, while the Nursery Ground will host the U14 Boys’ final and a Girls’ Invitational XI fixture.

The MCC Foundation runs a network of 164 hubs across the UK, offering free-to-access coaching and competitive cricket to over 5,500 state-educated boys and girls. The programme helps young players develop their hardball cricket skills, build confidence, and access pathways into the wider game.
