Guildford West Cubs Battle for Quiz Glory!
Guildford West was buzzing with excitement as five spirited Cub teams went head-to-head in the recent District Quiz, determined to prove who had the sharpest minds in the district.
Representing their packs with pride, teams from 5th Guildford ‘Lions’, St Nicolas 9th Guildford, 2nd Guildford, 1st Stoughton, and 1st Normandy tackled a wide range of challenging questions across categories including General Knowledge, Food, Science & Nature, Sport, People & Places, Music, and Culture.
Would you know what a Bombay Duck is? Or the name of the rubber disc used in ice hockey? Or even what FBI stands for?
Well, the Cubs certainly did! Their impressive knowledge is a testament to the dedication of their Cub team volunteers and the #skillsforlife that Scouting continues to nurture.
After a thrilling contest filled with cheers, laughter, and plenty of brainpower, the results were announced:
🏆 1st Place – 1st Stoughton 🥈 2nd Place – 1st Normandy
Neil Wibberley – District Cub Lead said “It was fantastic to see Cubs from across Guildford West showing off their knowledge and teamwork. Every pack did brilliantly – congratulations to 1st Stoughton and 1st Normandy and well done to all who took part!”
Congratulations to all the teams who took part – every Cub showed courage, teamwork, and a love of learning. The District Quiz was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of curiosity, community, and the unstoppable spirit of Scouting.
1st Stoughton will now represent the district at the County Cub Quiz in February.
